This morning sight-seeing tour
highlights the Acropolis, the Acropolis Museum, and all the major
sights of Athens
Leave at 9:15 a.m. for Panathinaiko Stadium where the first modern
Olympic Games took place in 1896 (visit). Pass by the Museum of
Cycladic Art, the Byzantine Museum, War Museum, National Gallery,
Prime Minister's residence, Ex Royal Palace (guarded by the colourful
Evzones),
Zappion Garden, Temple of Olympian Zeus, Hadrian's Arch, St.
Pauls Church, Parliament, the
Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, Schlieman's House, Catholic
Cathedral, Academy, University, National Library,
Omania Square, Old Parliament,
Constitution Square, Russian Orthodox Church, Theatre of
Dionyssus, and Theatre of Herodus Atticus. Visit the
Acroplis and tour the Propylaea, Temple of Athena Nike, the
Parthenon, Erechtheion and the Museum of Acropolis.

Athens by Night

This evening tour features the sound
and light spectacle as well as dinner and a floor show at a Greek
taverna .
After
attending the Sound and Light show from Pnyx Hill opposite the
Acropolis, the party proceeds for dinner to one of the most
popular tavernas. (April through October)
In November through March, as the Sound and Light show doesn't
operate, the tour starts with a visit to the main Greek port of
Piraeus, and the picturesque yacht harbour of Macrolimano.
Drinks at the taverna are not included in the price.

Cape Sounion

This afternoon tour highlights the
Temple of Poseiden with it's breathtaking view of the Saronic Gulf.
Leave Athens for a wonderful
drive along the scenic coastal road which affords a splendid view of
the Saronic Gulf.
Pass through some of Athens' most beautiful suburbs (Glyfada,
Vouliagmeni, Varzika) to Cape Sounion where you will visit the 5th
century B.C. temple of Poseidon. The temple offers one of the most
breathtaking panoramic views in the world and on a clear day you can
see at least seven islands.
The Doric columns of local marble have 16 flutings instead of the
usual 20. The precipice is a sheer 197 foot drop to the sea.

Ancient Corinth

This half-day excursion visits the
impressive Corinth Canal and the ruins of Ancient Corinth.
Leave
Athens and drive South West until we reach the Corinth Canal which
connects the Aegean Sea with the Ionian Sea (short stop). Drive on to
visit the Ancient Town of Corinth where St. Paul lived and preached
for two years. The remains of the city, which include the Agora
(market place) and Apollo's Temple (6th century B.C.) clearly show how
rich and important Corinth was in Ancient Times. A short stop at the
Site of the Ancient Port of Cehries, where St. Paul disembarked, will
conclude the visit. Return to Athens.
